LinkedIn for all generations
I am Mateo Bolivar and I have been an entrepreneur for about three years. I am a student. I started my entrepreneurship as a child with the typical things. I started my startup in January 2018 and I was able to participate in the Shark Tank chapter of Colombia. It was not easy to start from scratch, to build the base of something. Then I founded the second startup, a technological solution for hotels very similar to the lines that you covered previously and that is where we started working.
How did you get started on LinkedIn?
I had already participated in Shark Tank, my episode had not oman number red and I had already won awards, I had managed to raise investment and I was in the entrepreneurial environment but I had no idea how to use LinkedIn. For me, LinkedIn was used by people who had lost jobs and were now looking for a new one. Most students start creating LinkedIn to start looking for an internship, and that's fine because it's one of the functions of the tools but there is much more to it than that.
There are many people looking for job opportunities, but the most important thing is to start establishing relationships, generating value, generating content, generating discussions, and trying to help others. Before, I had 20 contacts, including my parents, and from that moment on, I understood everything that LinkedIn could start to give me. Now I have more than a thousand contacts.

Look at what a 20-year-old could achieve thanks to a network like LinkedIn. If someone like Mateo could do it, imagine what an executive from a major company in Latin America can achieve if he uses a network. If LinkedIn doesn't generate opportunities for you, you're doing something wrong. The opportunity was generated and a discussion was created.
