The top 10 hospitals are all on Twitter, of course. On average, these ten hospitals have 5713 followers. In three months, the hospitals sent an average of 245 messages per account, of which an average of 97 were @mentions (40%). In total, 418 @mentions (retweets are excluded) were placed to one of these hospitals. On average, 23% of the @mentions are answered. This may not seem like much, but it is still a lot more than among the top 100 advertisers in the Netherlands. The low percentage can also be explained, because many @mentions do not ask for an answer. In addition, many complaints will be resolved in another way, for example via DM, e-mail or telephone.
