Why Holded is safer than Windows for storing your data

Post by jrineakter »

In the last few days a group of hackers has taken control of the files of many companies in more than 99 countries. The 'virus', called WannaCry is a 'worm' capable of replicating itself between all Windows computers that did not have the latest security patch active. The objective is to encrypt as much information as possible and demand a 'ransom'. It is only the tip of the iceberg of a multi-million dollar business , hacking computers and stealing your information.

How does the attack work?
We've all read about it in the news, or we even know someone who has been through it, but as we always tend to think: it won't happen to me.
The business of encrypting india number data information and asking for money, usually in Bitcoins or cryptocurrencies to avoid leaving a trace, is much bigger and more popular than we might think. The system works like this:

A hacker can access our computer through an email or a website. They usually replicate websites that we know or use emails from our contacts.
Once inside, they encrypt all our files so that we can no longer access them.

They then ask us for money to recover them , it is not usually much, it depends on whether it is personal or professional information, it can vary between €100 and €3,000 and we normally end up paying, because there is no other option.

Is Holded more secure than Windows?
The cloud is a concept that many people still find difficult to understand and/or trust, but in reality it is much safer than you think.
At Holded we take security very seriously and we have a team of experts dedicated to protecting all your information. We make backups every few minutes, replicating the information in several remote data centers to offer maximum security and the possibility of recovering all files / documents in case of an attack.

It is much safer to use Holded than a program installed on your computer, Excel, or any other local method. Even making backups if they have an internet connection.
