BIM as a vector of development in engineering

Post by shamimhasan07 »

Why do we really need information modeling technology? What can it give to a design organization, besides costs and the burden on employees?

BIM as a vector of development in engineering
First BIM attempt: information model turned out to be non-working
Second BIM Attempt: What is the Cost of Mistakes in 2D Design?
Third BIM attempt: 1000 square meter discrepancy
We write standards in simple language
The Omsk company StroyTekhExpert, working with Renga and Pilot-BIM systems, saw how the phone number in turkey new technology helps find errors worth 50% of the project budget and identify a discrepancy of 1,000 square meters between the documentation data and the actual object. The process of transition from 2D to 3D design was not easy, but each attempt brought understanding that is impossible to obtain by studying someone else's experience.

Alena Belova, General Director of StroyTekhExpert LLC, tells us about it .

The company has existed for more than ten years. Initially, our main activity was the implementation of construction control (technical supervision) for the construction/reconstruction of civil facilities. Later, we connected design and engineering surveys - we worked in Autocad. Now we are engaged in a full range of engineering services at all stages of the facility's life cycle. The transition to BIM for the implementation of turnkey projects has become our development vector.

At the end of 2020 — beginning of 2021, the company faced a number of problems that needed to be addressed. Communication between employees was protracted, productivity decreased, there was an endless series of project corrections in which errors were found and sections were not linked. We missed deadlines for the transfer of finished design and estimate documentation for almost all objects. It was necessary to maintain a business reputation.

In 2021, I became interested in information modeling and took part in the conference "Construction Navigator - a course for reducing construction time", where I met Deputy General Director of Renga Software Maksym Nechiporenko. I asked questions that were bothering me and received comprehensive answers. As a result of the negotiations, we decided to launch pilot projects using Renga and Pilot-BIM to "get the hang of it".

We mastered the new technology on our own, consulting with ASCON-Siberia on any questions that arose. There were concerns that, given the age range of our employees from 20 to 85 years, not everyone would be able to be involved in the joint work process, and, accordingly, the costs of implementation would not pay off. Nevertheless, at the beginning of 2021, an agreement on strategic cooperation was signed between our organization, the Ministry of Construction of the Omsk Region and the State Budgetary Institution of the Omsk Region "Omskoblstroyzakazchik", ready to take part in a joint pilot project free of charge, as well as ASCON-Siberia. The AU "State Expertise of the Omsk Region" joined the pilot project.
