How to Manage a Remote Sales Team

Post by nishat@264 »

Set clear goals and manage sales targets at the input level first
Want to keep your sales reps on track while working remotely ? (You get the idea, this is the same point I made above, but from a sales manager’s perspective.)

It helps to set clear goals. This helps ensure that your salespeople know exactly what is expected of them.

There is one caveat, though: if you immediately think of revenue goals, it is highly unlikely that setting these goals will be enough to keep your sales team motivated. What motivates them is seeing that they are constantly making progress and that deals are only being closed every now and then.

The best way to solve this problem denmark cell phone number list is to set targets or quotas at the input level. These can include:

Number of calls made
Number of scheduled meetings
Number of meetings organized
Number of emails sent
Number of conversations per chat
Number of prospects contacted
...

Make the team trainable by sharing everything in one place
One of your most important roles as a sales manager – if not the most important – is to coach your sales team. (You can read much more on the topic of sales management here ).

In addition to tracking numbers (as in my previous point), you need to have a sense of the conversations your team is having with your prospects. Otherwise, you won’t be able to help them improve.

The best thing is to start sharing everything in one place. You can also ask your sales reps to CC you on every email, but your inbox will be flooded and you will always miss part of what is happening.

Get a CRM that captures all conversations with prospects, including all emails, meetings, calls, notes, ... and how those prospects interact with your emails and website (using tracking).
