Cybersecurity 2022: Five Focus Areas

As 2021 draws to a close, many organizations around the world are taking stock of what has been an incredibly turbulent year. The pandemic has hit economies hard, with companies having to pivot from one mode of operation to another throughout the year. Global trade has suffered not only because the infamous container ship Ever iceland mobile database was stuck in the Suez Canal for nearly a week, but also because the strain on supply chains has become unmanageable. 2021 has also seen some of the biggest cyberattacks in years, including the theft of Twitch’s entire user database and ransomware shutting down the Colonial Pipeline, the largest fuel pipeline in the United States.
With data breaches, ransomware, and phishing scams unfortunately making the news on a regular basis, companies are becoming less receptive to these threats and a degree of cybersecurity fatigue is setting in. Many organizations have resigned themselves to the fact that this is simply the reality of doing business today. But the truth is that the threats have never been more dangerous and the need to act has never been more urgent.
