When it comes to technological innovation and entrepreneurship, Mexico has a lot to offer. The talent of our engineers, scientists and entrepreneurs is unquestionable. Proof of this are the numerous international competitions in which Mexican students from secondary and higher education have come out on top. From medicine to robotics and environmental care, the creativity of these young people has led them to find intelligent solutions to problems that affect us all. However, there has been a lack of recognition and dissemination of these achievements, of which we should be very proud.
Casa México, part of the interactive South by Southwest (SXSW) festival, is a forum that contributes precisely to this objective. SXSW is one of the most important festivals of its kind worldwide. It is held annually in Austin, Texas, during the month of March and brings together thousands of technologists, innovators, entrepreneurs, artists and opinion makers from all over the world for a couple of weeks in the city.
Since its inception 30 years ago, it was not until 2016 that Mexico's participation became organized and joint, under the leadership of the Mexican Government, through the turkey consumer email list SRE and the Consulate General of Mexico in Austin, ProMéxico and the Tourism Promotion Council; and private actors, such as ITESM, whose students have been key to the success of the project. Thus, Casa México is the result of a harmonized effort to show the image of a Mexico that, while modern and creative, is also proud of its people and culture, positioning itself as a relevant country in the ecosystem of international entrepreneurship and technological innovation.
