Actually, the exact flight trajectory is set by the central computer, and since all robobjol are created manually and have a spread of characteristics, each of them undergoes auto-calibration. After calibration, the robobjol can be controlled as unified units, without worrying about the fact that one may be heavier, another lighter, and the third has slightly different wings.



The system of flight of robobes in a swarm is based on a norway number data system of wideband beacons (UWB). In a special room, two levels of beacons are installed, by the time marks of which robobes determine their place in space and in the swarm. The system takes into account many factors, including turbulence from the flapping of the wings of neighbors in the swarm. For Festo engineers, this was valuable experience in creating a robotic flying unit and organizing the coordinated flight of a group of such units. One day this experience will come in handy for the development of even more advanced bionic automatons that are in a swarm.
