The danger of deceiving the reader with eye-catching headlines

Post by Abdur12 »

Headlines are the gateway to your blog. You have to find the perfect balance between attracting attention and not disappointing the reader when they read the post.

Headlines. They're like that couple you hate and love at the same time. They make you suffer because you waste time and can't find that irresistible touch of attraction. They scare you because you don't know if you've just created too many expectations that you won't be able to meet.

They make your day because you've hit the nail on the head by finding the perfect balance between attention-grabbing content and quality content that attracts new visitors and readers.

Unconscious effects that headlines have on the reader
The vast majority of bloggers understand post titles as a japanese email address list tool to attract more visitors to their blog. So far, so good. In order to really take advantage of this weapon, you also need to be aware of certain side effects (both positive and negative) that they can cause.

Anticipation causes strong emotions : have you ever had a feeling of joy just by reading the title of a post? I must admit that it happens to me frequently because at the same time it is increasingly difficult for something to really catch my attention (a bit geeky , I know…). You have that expectation of finding an answer to a question that you have been asking yourself for a long time.
Expectation of long or short post : There are certain types of headlines that cannot be covered in a 400-word post. These are, for example, the typical expressions that indicate a type of guide content starting with “how to…” and then continuing with whatever you want. The reader expects a long post that is around 1,000 words. If it is shorter, they assume that the topic is not really covered in depth and most people leave without having read a single word (apart from the title, of course).
They give a certain image of the blogger : I recently dedicated a post to talk about the differences between Spanish and Latin American marketers . It has been widely commented in the post that on the other side of the pond, due to proximity to the United States, the American style is copied more. This is typically more aggressive than the one that is generally liked in Spain. Headlines are the first step in how someone characterizes you and consequently filters you. Many readers have a certain rejection of those bloggers who are too aggressive with their titles. You have to be aware of this.
