During the September press conference of RUSSOFT, among other things, the results of the study "Internal Security Incidents in Russian Companies. Data for the First Half of 2020" were announced, conducted by analysts of SearchInform by analyzing about 6,000 information security incidents in 50 small and medium-sized businesses from six industries (wholesale and retail trade, manufacturing, services, IT, construction, fuel and energy complex). The study involved companies from among those that use the SearchInform information security outsourcing service. Which, in fact, provided the opportunity to collect detailed statistics.
In this study, the largest number of recorded chile whatsapp data security incidents (34%) were cases of irrational use of working time. Next come attempts to steal information (22%); actions related to finding a new job (17%); various kinds of negative discussions (8%) and some other categories of information security incidents.
As it turned out, most often (in 24% of cases) dishonest employees try to steal technical information (drawings and diagrams; design documentation; models; product certification data; product nomenclature; protocols and conclusions of laboratory tests, examinations, etc.). Next (19%) are accounting and financial documents (financial statement data; closing documents; accounts; budgets and estimates; information on salary and bonus accruals; balance sheets, etc.). 6% of the time, they steal legal documents, customer and transaction data, as well as personal data of customers and employees. In addition, in 2% of cases, they steal tender documentation. The remaining cases involve information that is not particularly valuable.
