You can write your blog post directly in WordPress. The distraction-free editor mode makes this quite convenient. However, I still advise against it.
You wouldn't be the first person whose caching in WordPress suddenly stopped working for some inexplicable reason. One, two or even three hours of work can quickly disappear into oblivion.
It's particularly tricky if you leave your computer switched on overnight and the browser window with WordPress open. You carry on working the next morning and think that everything is fine.
