Recently I was going to go for a bike ride with a friend. On the way I wanted to have enough to drink, so I filled my spa bottle with tap water. So far nothing special, you would think. But the guy looked at me as if I had gone completely crazy. It turned out that he thought it was a waste that I mixed my branded water with tap water. “As if that makes any difference to the quality,” I said.
That is the power of branding. It will not be due to the tap water: Dutch tap water is the best in Europe. You do not buy that bottle of water in the store for the quality of the water, but for that beautiful label on it. So you see: with beautiful packaging and good marketing you can go a long way. Even if you are actually selling an average product.
