Gallup's test will tell you the truth
TALENT DAYS: Hi Adrianna! Tell us your story from the beginning – what was your path to Fresenius Medical Care EMEA GBS like? Were you looking for a job change, looking for your first job after graduation, or did you combine studying with work?
Adrianna: When I started studying psychology, job hunting was a priority for me, even in my first year. I noticed that many students of this major gravitate towards HR. According to the Gallup test , one of my strengths is the ability to build relationships. I have always been aware of this trait of my personality, so recruitment was a natural choice that appeared in my life.
Job Fair Through Adrianna's Eyes
TALENT DAYS: What are your memories of Talent Days? Apart from talking to representatives of your current company, did you visit stands of other employers?
Adrianna: During Talent Days, I participated in numerous job interviews, mainly thanks to my language skills – I speak fluent Polish, English and German. This meant that despite my limited experience, I managed to get invitations to several job interviews. I actively talked to exhibitors and explored the stands of different companies. I especially appreciated the stands of Kaufland, where you could find free, freshly prepared fruit juices, and Qatar Airways, which treated participants to delicious coffee. Job fairs are a great opportunity to get to know companies and their business profiles first-hand. As someone inexperienced on the job market, it was an opportunity for me to have direct contact with potential employers. The information I got from company representatives was much more valuable than what I could find on their websites.
Recruitment interviews as part of Talent Match
TALENT DAYS: You mentioned the numerous interviews at job fairs — how did you hear about Talent Match? What drew you to it?
Adrianna: I only found out about Talent Match after signing up for Talent Days, which a friend recommended. We were looking for a job together and decided that this event would be the perfect opportunity to find one. Before the fair itself, I received many phone calls with meeting offers from exhibiting companies, which allowed me to plan my interviews during the event in advance.
Face 2 face or internet?
TALENT DAYS: Looking back, what do you think are the advantages of job fairs and Talent Match over traditional online applications?
Adrianna: In my opinion, one of the main advantages of Talent Days is the direct contact with recruiters. Meeting them in person allows you to build a face-to-face relationship, which can significantly affect your chances of getting hired. Additionally, during Talent Match, you can receive immediate feedback from companies, which is rare when applying online. This allows you to quickly find out if your profile is interesting to employers. What's more, at Talent Days, recruiters often try to match the offer to the candidate, not the other way around, which gives you a better chance of finding a job that really matches your skills and expectations.
