I have had a Twitter account for some time now. For my blog, it is the strongest channel of traffic. Starting from a base of basic tips to increase the CTR on Twitter, I am sharing with you some additional “tricks” that I have recently discovered.

I have been using Twitter for a little over 2.5 years now (I registered the account a little over 3 years ago). For a little over 2 years I have been using it heavily to promote the posts on this blog. Twitter is my most important traffic channel, generating between 50-70% of visits. Google is still a less important channel, although it also accounts for 25%. Depending on the success of the daily post, I usually get around 1,500-3,000 visits per day.

Promoting your blog with Twitter

One of the first posts on this blog already addressed this journalist email database topic from a similar angle. I wanted to find out the relationship between the number of followers and the number of clicks per tweet . What influences the CTR on Twitter is not only the time of day and whether you have an “influential” account or other criteria. Since the first post I have learned some additional “tricks”.

The “classics” to increase the number of clicks on Twitter

You've probably already read a post (even on this blog) that has already covered the topic. Let's start with a summary of the most effective tips:

Asking for retweets : This is probably the oldest “trick”. Don’t overuse it, since you’re asking for effectiveness. Only ask for it when you need it. It’s a wildcard that you can’t use very often. Personally, I almost never do it.

Optimize the title : creating memorable headlines on Twitter is 80% of the success of a post. If you fail with the first version, take the opportunity to change it and launch the post with a new tweet.

Posting the tweet at 11pm : In Spain, this is the best time to tweet, as many people have finished dinner and are relaxing with their iPhone or iPad “watching” TV and checking Twitter.
