Ransomware Attacks: What's the Solution?

Post by seonumberlist »

Ransomware is a type of cyber attack that aims to make the IT security of companies and public institutions vulnerable ; the hackers' goal is to extort sensitive information in exchange for money. If initially web criminals limited themselves to blocking access to information, in recent years the threats have become so sophisticated that they also include the sale of data to third parties.

The latest cybercrime trends increasingly see generic criminals turning to afghan phone number -as-a-service products, cloud platforms where programmers provide full-blown, advanced malware kits, complete with tutorials, customization procedures for companies, leak dispersion sites, and customer service assistants who facilitate ransom payments.

The 2023 of Ransomware
In the period between January and December 9, 2023, according to data provided by Ransomfeed , 182 ransomware attacks were claimed (they stopped at 91 in 2022). A figure that places Italy in fourth place among the most affected countries on a global scale.

IT security attacks are often carried out with sophisticated malware.

Paying the ransom is the most ineffective solution because it is not excluded that the criminals do not respect their part of the agreement. For the majority of companies that have succumbed to ransomware, the result has been, in fact, to run into a double extortion, with the threat of leaking new sensitive data in exchange for further ransoms.
