For me, the best example is Steve Kaufmann who is a polyglot. So, he is someone who masters a lot of languages, I don't remember how many languages Steve speaks, but he is someone very inspiring. However, he is over 70 years old and he is still learning new languages. He wrote a book, which I recommend, called The Way of The Linguist in which he explains why he learns languages and how he learns them. There is also an interview on Steve's Français Authentique YouTube channel. I was lucky enough to have Steve on this channel and he shared his best tips with us. So of course, Steve is an extreme example because learning languages is his passion, he made it his job. He used to do something else, but it became his job. Today we look at the success he had throughout his life, but we must not forget that he learned languages one after the other. He started with one language, he tested it, he had failures, successes, he persevered and the result we see today is the sum of all the efforts he made throughout his life.
Steve, I'm sure this is not an isolated case, there are plenty of other polyglots or people who have learned a foreign language after a certain age. They ignored the preconceived ideas that said they were too old to do it and they managed to learn regardless of their age. You just have to try and dare.
We have many other great examples in the Authentic French academy . Truly, this large community brings together people of all ages, from barely 18 to over 70 years old. All these people work every day, regardless of their age, to move forward. They really have one big thing in common, they want to, they persevere, they are motivated, they have the determination and they have the passion to practice within a positive community, they have the passion to exchange with their friends on a daily basis, and those, regardless of their age.
