23% of German companies use software for employee monitoring

The crisis has led some companies to implement employee monitoring for the first time. 6% of employees surveyed in a recent Capterra study say that monitoring was introduced during the crisis. 17% say it was already in practice beforehand. It is especially important to create clear, concise and tailored communication about how, when and why employees are monitored.

Capterra conducted an online survey of 708 employees from German companies in February to investigate employee monitoring in the workplace. In this article, we look at the survey results and offer tips for managers and HR departments on how to communicate monitoring measures. The full study methodology is at the end of the article.

Companies are using employee monitoring software to monitor and maintain productivity, assess employee sentiment, and find coaching opportunities for their new hybrid workforce.

The use of this technology is becoming more widespread.
