This book is especially good if you doubt yourself or need a little inspiration. With entertaining sketches and drawings, the book is very easy and quick to read.

Writing Guides I CANNOT Recommend
Of course, some guides have disappointed me. Here is my anti-list:

1. Bird by Bird * by Anne Lamott

A guide for novelists. Very entertaining in parts, but the practical lessons are really limited. I had already read everything in one form or another.

And it takes her a veeeeeery long time to get to the point.

2. On Writing Well * by William Zinsser

A classic in the Anglo-American writing world. But more for absolute beginners and people who have no writing experience. Maybe I didn't like it because I read it relatively "late" in my writing career. Plus: nowhere near as entertaining as Wolf Schneider.
