There are no standards. Experts advise developing adaptive website layouts for at least three types of devices:

Small: width up to 600px. This is for phones.
Medium: 600px–900px. These devices include phablets, tablets, and small netbooks.
Large: 900px. These are laptops and monitors.
We heard another version from a representative of a brazil consumer email list large Russian web studio. They develop designs for 5 resolutions:

320x568px
360x640px
768x1024px
768x1366px
1080x1920px
In general, three versions are the necessary minimum, and then everything depends on your capabilities and users. If time and budget allow, you can make a layout for every device your clients use.

Not only devices are different, but browsers are too
Each browser has its own approach to displaying content. And this makes the responsive version of the site even more challenging. When you realize that browsers have different versions and the client is not necessarily using the latest one, everything becomes even more confusing.

What to do? Try testing the mobile and desktop layout on as many devices as possible. Use special software, for example, Am I Responsive ? So far, nothing better has been invented for testing the adaptive version of a site.
