But one of the largest IT companies in the world, what has her life been like so far and how does her everyday life differ from that of her non-handicapped colleagues? Franzi, a state-certified foreign language correspondent, answered all of these questions very openly and gave me a detailed insight into her everyday working life.

Her dreams and wishes for the future are no different from those of sighted people. As a child, she wanted to be a psychologist or an author. She has already achieved both goals with her positive nature and extraordinary strength of will. With an open ear and her unbiased view of the world, as a hobby psychologist she always has a valuable tip for her friends. In 2019, her first book for young people, "Why do we need boys?", was published. Impressive milestones that illustrate that perceived limits in the expansion of one's own development are far too often just a "matter of the mind". Hurdles can be overcome if you just want to.

Franzi arrived at her job at Microsoft in 2017 on the S-Bahn in Munich. She answered openly the curious questions of the person sitting next to her, who was interested in how she used her smartphone. The fact that she italy consumer email list had a Microsoft listener was an unexpected coincidence and a stroke of fate. The Microsoft Accessibility Manager at the time was deaf herself and the need for employees in the accessibility area was increasing.

It all started with an internship as a business program manager and as a member of a customer success education team. In this position, Franzi evaluated the applications developed from a user perspective in terms of their accessibility. After her internship ended, however, she never completely lost contact with her former team.

She continued to attend events and give talks on inclusion and accessibility. On International Day of Persons with Disabilities, December 3, 2019, shortly after the publication of her first book, Microsoft gave her an exclusive reading in the dark.

This extraordinary event brought Franzi back to Microsoft in 2020 - initially on a temporary basis, as a Business Program Manager in the Customer Success Education Team. A few stops further on, she has been a permanent member of the Customer Success Unit since October and is now steadily driving forward her personal passion issues such as accessibility and inclusion. As a child, she had the desire to devote herself to a social vocation, and she feels that this wish is in good hands in the IT industry.
