We make original products in various areas of decorative and applied art: caviar bowls, honey bowls, candlesticks, vases. My relatives started developing this business in 1989. Evgeniya Lapko
Managing partner of the company "Ioann Zlatoust. Factory No. 1" in Zlatoust
A common cause unites the Lapko family
It was no coincidence that Evgenia's relatives became interested in metal engraving technology. This craft has been practiced in Zlatoust for over 200 years. Evgenia's education and work are also closely connected with this type of applied art. She studied to be a cultural scientist, worked in companies that were engaged in Zlatoust engraving, and lectured on the fundamentals of world artistic culture at the university.
Evgenia was also a journalist for periodicals and radio, and worked in a bank. At some point, she realized that she could not fully realize herself in employment: the management had its own vision of how to build a business, and the opinions of employees were rarely taken into account. Then Evgenia decided to open her own business.
The future entrepreneur did not initially plan to create a family business. But she understood that she wanted to work with Zlatoust engraving and art. The idea of a family factory arose spontaneously: why not combine the knowledge of the masters who are in the family into something bigger than an artel. Her husband and relatives supported Evgenia.
